The Butterfly in the Bronx

I heartily recommend spending the extra few dollars to go into the Butterfly Garden at the Bronx Zoo. (If you’re not absolutely terrified of butterflies, that is.) It’s a great opportunity to get up and close with those wily bugs that you may not have in nature. In addition to all the plants specifically planted to attract the butterflies, there are also dishes of pure butterfly delights waiting to lull these living specimens into a doped up sense of security while visitors gape at them. Pick up a map from one of the employees as you go in — there are dozens of species to identify.
