Vacations Past: The Tulips in the Field

with one comment

Walking around Descanso Gardens is a wonderful way to spend a day of your vacation. Every month of the year, there is something new blooming — cherry trees, camellias, roses… there’s even often wildlife making their homes in or around the ponds in the garden.

On this last visit, D and I happened to go when they were having their Tulip Festival. For as far as the eye could see, there were tulips stretching their flowery faces to the sky. Red ones, pink ones, purple ones… all in lovely, vibrant shades, all perfectly poised for a wonderful photo opportunity. I’m very lucky D is a very patient guy, as he stood around uncomplaining for probably half an hour while I got down in the grass composing pictures.

  1. This sounds like a great place to take flower pictures.

I love to take flower pictures, it is so peaceful, serene and wonderful to me.

The different colors and sight and sounds of bees and birds is amazing.
